3 Benefits of Being The Spiritual Head of Your Home

All women (whether they seem like it or not) desperately want a spiritual leader as their husband. That is why so many pastors and ministers have affairs–the women who pursue them instinctively feel closer to God by being with a man of God. And while cheating/adultery is obviously wrong, the instinct of the woman is right: women need a spiritual leader in the home. As a husband, God has placed a mandate on your life to be “Like Christ”, who is the spiritual leader of the church.

For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭25-27‬ NLT)

It sounds overwhelming, I’m sure!
Being the spiritual leader of your household has great benefits to you.

1. You will be closer to God.
As you seek God’s face for instruction on how to care for your family, your relationship with Him will reach a new level of intimacy. And we all know that a strong relationship with God creates its own benefits.

2. Your wife will respect you.
As you yield to the power of God and share those revelations with your wife, she will naturally submit to your authority. You will find her arguing with you less, using her instincts instead to support and enhance your partnership.

3. Greater spiritual intimacy produces greater physical intimacy.
In its correct context, sex represents a physical manifestation of becoming one. When a husband and wife work together spiritually, sex becomes an expression of the love, respect, and admiration of God and of each other.

As you can see, you have NOTHING to lose by being the spiritual leader of your family. What are some other benefits that I missed?
