Another Life

I used to be the kind of girl
Who cried at night
Rage carrying me through the day
The heart wanting what it wanted
Never sure if the want
Matched the depth of my need
Grief ripping my unbridled life
A destroyer of every seed planted
Thoughts slanted towards regret
Emotions living off unspoken remorse
I could never breathe
Only shallow sips of desperation
You could have never satisfied my greed
Growing even as it consumed me
Until all that remained was bitter and no sweet

I wish you knew me now
And how
I could love you
In another life
