Because I want to be intentional about expressing my gratitude even when I don’t feel like it…
Day 5: I am grateful today for learning hard lessons. Without that discomfort, I would never have the presence of mind to solve the problems that come with getting older and being great. The pressure, the pain, the repeat, the grind… Have all served to make me better.
The amount of fortitude that I have gained from pressing through to the other side of every situation has made me wiser, sweeter, softer. I slowed down and started to listen for the voices behind the vibrato. I have learned to speak only when I have something to say. I am realizing that what I want is not that important–but what I give is.
So, as beat up as I have been, I wear my scars with pride. I have survived, and what I have taken away from every experience has made me thrive.
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”
