Aground

I have run
Until I have run aground
Crashing against all
That I pretend not to be
My roots drying up in abject defeat
The loss
Of drive and certainty
As far away as Mississippi clay roads
And desire spent
Limp against foreign humidity
I have run aground now
Moored in the sands of
My own instability
